Hello Gordon,
I just finished listening to the demo. It was terrific! I do have one question. How difficult was the installation of VM Tools with Narrator?
THanks,
Marshall

Hi all. I'm not sure if anybody on this list will be interested. But I thought I'd mention it anyway. After discussing Fusion and virtualisation in general with several people, some Mac owners and some not, I was asked to produce a demo of the applications available for producing virtual machines on the Macintosh, for broadcast on ACB Radio's Main Menu technology show. This I have done, and it will be aired on the morning of 1 May, at 01:00 UTCV. In the demo, I tried to be as impartial as possible, whilst keeping things informal and informative. I walk the listener through the process of setting up a virtual machine in real time, and through all of the advanced configurations of the virtual machine, plus demonstrating how to use the easy install to set up the operating system, in this case Windows XP, once the machine is created. The demo lasts for just over 50 minutes, and when it airs it should be followed by a question and answer session. I will be making myself available to try and address any questions which the Windows user, typically, might have. My hope is that this might make people who have never used a Mac aware of the power in the box, and hopefully dispell some of the myths regarding VoiceOver in the process. Obviously I used VoiceOver to guide me through the process of setting up the virtual machine, and I want the listener to hear just how accessible the product really is. I also touched briefly on Parallels Desktop. Sadly, it wasn't possible to demo that in the same amount of detail. Otherwise I would have been happy to do so. Anyway, my point. I have made the demo available on my website in 2 formats in case anybody is interested in listening to it before it goes to air. If you'd like the MP3 then the url is http://www.tft-bbs.com/demos/vm-demo.mp3 and if you'd like the Windows Media file then go to http://www.tft-bbs.com and then click on the Demos page. The link you want is the bottom link on the page, where it says "So click here to listen". I welcome comment. So far I've had a bit of a mixed reaction. Predictably, the one anti-Mac person who has heard it was determined to be unimpressed by VO. But I welcome comment on the demo in general. I confess from the outset that I'm not a good teacher. And if you can handle my Northern English accent, coupled with my battle against hay fever, then feel free.
