Greetings,
In MacOS 10.3, universal access could support the speaking of text
when a key is pressed. Under 10.4 and voice over, I can't get this
to work well ata all. If I use the VO command F6 to speak selection,
it says there's no selection if text is selected in Safari. If I
enable the old universal access feature, it will speak "Copy" as if
it made the menu Edit command copy, and not speak the selected
text--sounds like the speaking of "copy" clobbers the actual speaking
of the selected text.
My question: How do I get VO to speak selected text in an app, like
Safari, using a key combination.
Note: I do not want to use the services menu. I want one key
combination to speak a text selection.
