No it's not a new product for the Mac, but this particular file is
only a few days old.

Kurzweil education systems has released kurzweil 3000 just two days
ago. I have not looked at it yet but it may be interesting or useful
for some of us if not just to know that blindness companies close to
our good pals at the NFB are getting involved with Mac OS X.
