hello debra and all:
I have been a total mac user since august 05. I have found it easier
and much more fun than my PC which I used for years. of course, it
depends upon what you use it for and how technical you want to
become. I am not a programmer so there are things I might not need to
know about my mac.
there is a learning curve though i guess there is for everything.
If you are reading this list, you will learn plenty and will receive
tons of support whether you wait for the next OS release or run out
tomorrow and purchase a mac (smile).
Whatever you decide to do your decision will be a good one. try to
continue to learn all you can so you can separate fact from fiction.
I got a crash course so to speak. I had just received a check from a
paying client (smile) and was try to figure out what to do with it.
the next morning ... no joke, my PC died and someone on this list
suggested I get a mac. some laughed at me for being really gung ho
about the mac though it has been a fun time. mail is much more
sensible than outlook express in myopinion.
OK, enough of my happy chatter (smile).
Glad you spoke up on the list. keep it coming it keeps us sharp (smile)

It is also hard for me to imagine why anyone would learn latex
just for tables. Personally I use it to write pretty much
everything in college. TeXShop by itself fulfilles the work of MS
Word, some of Excel, and even powerpoint. Yes latex is the best
thing. I think everyone should use it and drop these silly "what
you see is what you get" processors altogether. If the world
were as I imagine it, everyone would change over to latex.
