Hi Kate,
I use iTunes with my iPod shuffle. The first time you connect
it, you will be asked to sync your computer with the Shuffle. If
you have not done so and want to, you will then be able to add songs
as a play list comes up in your sources outline for the Shuffle.
The only downside that I have found, and perhaps there is a
solution out there, is if you have the iPod synched with another
computer, the Shuffle will not come up as a play list and I've found
no direct way to transfer songs.

I'm also trying to move songs over from my pc to the mac-is a jump
