Ok, well I haven't had a good look at this yet but I know that if you
right click on it you can choose the affect you want, that's probably
about as far as you can go perhaps.

Nicecast works great. However, we need to write to Rogue Amoeba and
ask them to build in accessiblity for their effects matrix. At
present, it's a scroll area that VO users can't interact with.
However, the sighted user sees a grid that they can click on to add
an effect to an empty square or edit an existing effect. If they
could define those squares as groups that vo could interact with, we
could have 100 percent access to the program, oh yeah. I forgot about
the onair light. That's not currently readable either. There is this
icon that reads "On Air," "Buffering," and "Off Air" in the main
window. if that could be defined, that would totally rock as well.
Just some quick thoughts.

I know someone else who has Nicecast and he's extremely happy with
it, I'm going to get it as it will make the radio work I do over
the Internet allot easier.

I think you'll be quite happy with nice cast if you get it. The
only one of their products I haven't yet tried is airfoil, and I do
have plans to check that out as I do have an airport express.

I'm also glad to say that the developers of Fission seem to be
quite happy to take suggestions as well, I've written to them
about a few things.
When Fission and Audio Hijack Pro are purchased together, its a
very good "value for money" package, I'm about to play
withNicecast shortly.

Hi. I also recently purchased Fission, just last week actually.
I'm quite happy with it. Like you, I also wish there was a jump
to time option. It's worth noting that for people who have
already bought audio hijack pro, the can get $14 off the purchase
of fission. So you'd get it for the same price as you would if
you bought both programs at the same time. So in my case, I got
Fission for $18, which isn't a bad investment at all.

Hi!
Fission is the companion audio editor to Audio Hijack Pro and I'm
very pleased with my purchase of this product, now we can easily
edit audio. I was up until my purchase of Fission, using Sound
Studio for editing and it was a bit of a pain in the bum, you
could "scroll" through the audio file using time and the cursor
keys but the process was lengthy. Fission has the ability to
scroll through audio as though you were using the cue/review
control on a cassette recorder, that is to say you hear the audio
as you're scrolling with the left and right arrow keys. If you
wish to select a portion of an audio file for removal for
example, you scroll till you come to the begining point of your
selection, press "I" on the keyboard and the begining selection
point is set, scroll on till you get to the point where you wish
your selection to end and press "O" to select the end point, your
selection is made so you can press the delete key to remove the
selection or press the "Crop" button on the toolbar or select it
from the tools menu to keep the selection but to remove all audio
outside the selected portion.
You can also perform "Split" points at the point where the
playhead is by pressing command-t, all these split points, start
and end selection points etc are shown on the screen and are very
easy to read with Voiceover.
Another nice feature of Fission is that it can act on Cue sheets,
these cue files are created by CD Ripping software, Max Ripper
for the Mac comes to mind here, for Fission these cue sheets
(which can be edited in say Text Edit) define the points where a
wave file is split into tracks. Fission can use these files to
split a larger wave file into say separate MP3 tracks.
This product hasn't been around long and still needs some
tweeking, the "Time Select" dialog box isn't accessible yet and
I'd like to see a "Jump to" dialog so you could type in a time
value and have the playhead jump to the spot, I've already made a
suggestion about this last feature and I'm waiting to hear back
from the authors of this software. Apart from those 2 things, I
think that Fission is quite definately worth the $32.00 one needs
to pay to purchase it, you save considerably if you purchase both
Fission and Audio Hijack Pro as a bundle, I did just that. I did
think of writing about Audio Hijack Pro, I probably will write a
little but I think this excellent application has been covered
enough here as we have other fello list members getting pleasure
from it.
