Exactly, I mentioned this to the list before but i'll mention it again as its a good example of what Anne's referring to here. I first started with an Ibook G4 and I was impressed with this machine. I joned this list not long after starting my Mac experience and not long afterthat, saw an Ibook G3 on Ebay, I put a bid of $300.00 up for it and won the computer, I thought it would be of value to a friend of mine who is just starting out with computers and I wanted her to try a Mac with Voiceover, I asked at the time whether this machine would be powerful enough to run VO etc, by the sounds of it the g3 Ibook I purchased through Ebay is of similar specifications to the one Anne described, at the time I received many replies to my wonderings of how the Ibook G3 would go from this list, Anne may have herself been one of those people to give me encouragement at the time <smile>. Anyhow, I'm pleased to report that the G3 Ibook is still running very nicely thanks, I don't know how it will go running Lepard but I'm prepared to try it and if it doesn't work? Well its back to something that does work, "Trusty Tiger" <smile>

Hello James,

Of course your MacBook will take Leopard. There will be some very old machines that won't be powerful enough, but Apple is very good when it comes to backward compatibility. My sister runs Tiger on a 350 MHz G3 Clamshell iBook which must be 6 years old if it's a day.

Cheers,

Anne
