Hi William,
I had to have sighted help with the set up and training. It seems to work OK for telling the Mac what to do but I haven't spent enough time to get a good dictation error rate.

William:

Thanks for your inquiry.

We have thousands of satisfied customers and would love to welcome you to the growing family of iListen users. iListen requires the use of a MacSpeech-certified microphone to achieve best results. Since we are required to test and sterilize any returned microphones, we are not able to offer "try before you buy" copies. You can view our customer testimonials here:

You can also find links to reviews of iListen here:

Because of our requirement that a MacSpeech-certified microphone is used with iListen, we do not provide trial versions. We do, however, offer a limited 30-day money back guarantee, with the following provisions:

- You must work with our Tech Support department within the first 30 days to work through any issues;

- There is a 15% restocking fee because we are required by law to replace the mouthpiece and earpiece on the microphone. (Restocking fee only applies to headworn microphones).

A complete description of the limitations on our 30-day money back offer can be found here:

You may want to browse through our KnowledgeBase before you purchase. Many of your questions can be answered with these resources.

You can access our KnowledgeBase by pointing your browser to http://www.macspeech.com/ and then clicking on the word "Support" at the top of the page. Once on our Support site, click on the link to our KnowledgeBase.

Regarding VoiceOver, while iListen does not conflict with it in any way, it is also not fully compatible with VoiceOver at this time. We are working on a new version which will be VoiceOver compatible that should be available sometime next year.

We can tell you, however, that we already have many vision-disabled customers, including many who are fully blind who depend on iListen every day.

Best Regards,

The MacSpeech Team
