If you can send me some samples I can either change DTBmaker to process the files or write a utility that converts the files to the required format.

hi

the talking newspaper files of the UK are in text files greg see, with each articles proceeded via a number character was wondering if a daisy program existed or could be written to accept the user to use text files not just HTML and define when you see one number character heading level 1, when you see 2 of them before an article in this case you ahve level 2 that way one could use say alex on the mac with elopard or any other voice to put these files into daisy and thus read them on the stream

I not at all sure what the question is here. DTBmaker requires that HTML like markup be used to identify the various headers as well as the text of the book. You can not define your own markup tags.
