There is a latex spelling checker called Excalibur that works with
TexShop and knows about the commands.
Before using TeXShop you need to install TeX itself you can download
it here: http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/mac/mactex/MacTeX.dmg
Be warned it is BIG! 700+ megabytes big. Run the installer and then
download and install TeXShop here is the link: http://www.uoregon.edu/~koch/texshop/texshop.dmg
TeXShop and TeX are universal and I have had no issues with running
them with intel macs

sorry again
I have another query with tex or latex
my spelling is very poor and so I need to spell check everything so
when I write a tex document the commands in tex show up as incorrect
words. It would be good if there was a way to automatically update
MAC OS X's dictionary with one command that put all these latex
commands in it.
