Hi. I'm not sure this could work. Dvd isn't like television where the audio description is carried on the sap channel. In the case of dvs on dvd, it is carried on a completely different audio track. A dvd might have several tracks, including different languages, different audio mixes, director commentary and dvs. So I don't think that the dvd player would know which of these was the dvs track. Now what would be nice would be a way to quickly jump between audio tracks. This wouldn't take you directly to the dvs track, but you'd get there eventually.

I realize there are a lot of people who just wish to have audio only, and not bother with audio description. Here is a suggestion to consider: what if Apple develop or include, in VoiceOver, a menu that will allow for people to have the option of either turning the audio description on or leaving it off. There are a lot of DVD's that have that feature built in, but the option is menu-driven, and most DVD players don't have that feature where a blind person can either activate the SAP that has the description on one channel; perhaps in the future, Apple could incorporate that option in Apple TV and also make that an option on the Mac. I will write to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] with these suggestions. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.
