I think what you've noticed are gaps when the archiving stopped working. This happened for the first time at the end of March 2007. The Mail archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40macvisionaries.com/ has everything, but I think display by thread only works for the current month. I posted two messages about this to the list between the end of March and mid-April: Discuss Archives at Macvisionaries site not being updated? http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40macvisionaries.com/msg13235.html and Gap in March Archive coverage [was Re: Leopard is delayed] http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40macvisionaries.com/msg13707.html >UnlessI'm missing >something obvious, it appears that the "sort by date" category does not >include all messages for the month. I think you're right that this first started in March, and that the last available post depends on whether you are searching by date or by subject or author. I never got an answer to this, and since noting the problems I just use the Mail Archive. I also wish they would post a link to Mail Archive search facility: http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40macvisionaries.com/ at the Discuss Archive list pages, along with a link to the explanation of search syntax. Information on how to create a local search link and on search syntax is given in the Mail Archive FAQ: http://www.mail-archive.com/faq.html#search Cheers, Esther
