Question for the programmers among you

Hello,

Those of you who program on the mac, what integrated development  
environment and languages do you use? I really need to be able to  
program on the Mac, but I can't seem to find an IDE that is  
accessible with VO. As far as languages go, scripting languages like  
python are useful for some things, but they definitely have their  
limitations. So, any recommendations based on personal programming  
experience would be highly appreciated.
