If you could set the level in db where you can start the crop that
would be cool. You can do this in sound forge.

No not at all, you can put the marks in place easily enough and use
the set selection to set a selection between markers, then use the
crop button very simple.
I don't know what you mean by crop level, the crop function trims
all the audio data outside the selection boundaries, that's what
its supposed to do and that's what its always done whether that be
in Sound Studio, Fission, Sound Forge etc.
Now if you're talking about levels? As in audio levels? Well they
can be easily adjusted too by going into the Audio Levels window
off the Window menu and adjusting the sliders.

The problem is when you can not see the screen you have to do a lot
of screwinng around to put the edit marks in the coreccet place.
What I ask them for is a crop function where you could set the crop
level.

There's never been a problem with that as far as i know, make your
selection, press the crop button and its done.

Hi did they fix the crop function so we can use it?

Ok, perhaps I was half asleep myself as I kind of messed up.
Command and hifon pressed together zooms out. Command and equals
together zooms in. the hifon and equals are on your normal top
row of numbers.

I am using command

ummm, may be I'm half asleep here or something but I have no
idea what you're talking about, please explain exactly what key
combinations you're using, look at your message below.

No, lol, you use just command by and the key together.

Ok, so you're saying that you hold down command-option and - or
= on the numberpad right?
Doesn't seem to do all that much here apart from immit a nice
VoiceOver beep.
Do you have to use the bypass key for VO? That doesn't seem to
do all that much either.

Yeah dane sorry, it is command option and the equals and dash
on the numbers row.

And you say that option Plus and option - change this, are you
talking about the plus and the - on the numberpad or on the
top row, all I get is a nice beep and nothing happens when I
try that so I'm obviously doing something wrong, you're sure
its option and not command we're talking about here?

Yes they do believe it or not. What the zoom does is specify
how mutch time the arrow keys move in samples. The larger the
zoom, the biger the jump in time. Now you can see why I was a
bit fed up with fision's inability to specify that.

Pardon my ignorance but do the zoom controls make all that
much difference to a visually impaired user?

hi Josh:
1. Editting seems perfect for now at least. You use option
dash and option plus to set your zoom level, arror arrow with
left and right arrow to find your points for cutting and the
usual selection keys work. Command Home selects from the
current position to the top, nice and easy to pull off
without having 3 hands. Same goes for Command down arrow.
As to recording it seems fine, but i've not tried reading
VU's on it or anything yet.
The options for altering sample rate and specifying the
running time would you believe is accessible and it is in one
dialog, how odd.
These are my thoughts, for now at least.

Subject: Sound Studio 3.5.4, for those using it
I know a couple of you have used this new version somewhat
extensively. Can you give us a few points where access is
still lacking in the product, and where it really shines?
I want to post a brief news story on Lioncourt.com for
this, but haven't had a chance to delve deep into the
program yet. Any info you want to provide would be
fantastic. Thanks.
