The only reason the Mini is a desktop is because it doesn't have a
battery or a display, and the keyboard and mouse are also
external. Apart from that, it's quite tiny, say, the size of your
basic CDROM drive. Sounds like a great box to build something like,
say, a DVR around. But aside from the fact that you *can* move it
(because it's light), I can think of several reasons you might want
wireless in a desktop. In fact, I can, because two of my desktops (not
Mac) have wireless.

If routing ethernet cable is difficult or impossible, wireless in a
desktop is the best option. For instance, I have an IRLP node (which
is a ham radio/Internet gateway) in my attic. Getting an ethernet
cable from the first floor, where my DSL router is, up to the attic,
would be at least a small problem and just a little
inconvenient. Therefore, it's on a wireless connection. Melanie's
desktop is on another wall from the router, and to get from one point
to another would involve routing an ethernet cable across a doorway
and in a fairly inconvenient manner...so she, too, has wireless, even
though her computer is maybe 10 feet from the router, as the crow
flies. Of course, there's the issue of running out of ethernet ports
on the switch and having a wireless access point handy but not another
switch.
