UPS batteries generally are not swapped to get longer battery life out of them regularly. They are merely for backup purposes, not to portably run desktops (although I guess you could do that if you really needed to, but a laptop would get you MUCH better life, in hours). That being said, some UPSs have extremely long battery backup run times..it's all about how much you're willing to spend.
