I missed it as well. I tried the O S 9 command of command eject, but it didn't work, so I thought they got rid of it. Thanks for that bit of intel.

On a full keyboard, control, option, command and the eject button will shutdown the computer entirely. The control, command and eject will restart. Obviously, on a laptop, you need to add the fn key.

There is a keyboard combination that will do this, but, for now, the easiest way to shutdown is the control option and letter m keys to open the menu from finder or any app, and use the down arrow on the Apple menu until you come to, shutdown. Just hit enter on this and the machine shoot turn off in a few seconds.

         any quick hints?
I'm on the road right now, but wanted to play a little bit.
Also, what's the correct way to shut down a mac?

You should hear, secure edit text, which is the area to put in the pw. You might have to tab or use the VoiceOver navigatin keys to find the area,
but, usually, your focus is on it.
