To stop command period will do the job. However, when in doubt, use
the VO-keys or also known as control plus option and the letter m to
bring up the menu. arrow across to controls etc. and as you arrow
down, you'll find a list of command you can use while in Itunes and
also what the shortcut is, i.e. command plus period will stop the
currently playing selection. You can generally find many shortcut keys
in the menu this way. You'll get familiar with these as you go through
the menus.
