Has anyone noticed that the infovox voices sometimes just say
selected folder, selected file instead of reading the file name
when navigating quickly in the finder?

Hi Guys,
On the mac visionaries website there is a link where you can buy
voices for vo. Has anyone done this? How hard is it to install
them? And, finally, I didn't see any prices listed what is the
price?
I think that information is a bit outdated. You now have two
options. The Cepstral voices (in that link) for $30 a piece, or
the Infovox iVox voices you can listen to here: http://
www.assistiveware.com/ivoxsamples.php and download as a fully
functional 30 day demo here: http://www.assistiveware.com/
voicedownload.php
The Infovox iVox voices are sold per language, not per voice. For
US English you pay $99 for 5 high quality voices (3 adult and 2
kid voices). Other languages are also available.
I will leave it to others to comment on differences in quality and
stability when used with VoiceOver between the Cepstral and the
Infovox iVox voices. Or, you can try for yourself. We distribute
the Infovox iVox voices so I do not think I should be the person
to make that comparison. Other people on the list have experience
with both and I am sure can share their insights.
Cheers,
david.
