Hi Je,
This should be possible from within the Voice Over Utility window.
1. VO (FN if on a laptop) + F8 to open the VO utility
2. Make sure the "Verbosity" tab is selected. (I think this is the
default selection when the Utility comes up.)
3. Navigate to the "Whilst typing speak" popup menu, and in you'll
find an option called "Nothing".
This should help you, but please bare in mind that you'll get no
feedback as you type in any application, as the VO settings affect VO
system wide. If i am incorrect about this, then please let me know.
4. Close VO utility with either Command + W or Command + Q
