New Mail Issues

Listers I tried to add my G Mail account to Mail and I made two mistakes. When 
I was testing it I sent a message to another of my mail accounts and it said 
the outgoing server was incorrect. I used mail.gmail.com. If this is wrong can 
someone assist. Second I left the name of the account as POP Account because I 
did not know what it was asking, so I need to know how to change it. I want it 
to say G Mail.
