Hello everyone,
We spent all day yesterday at Apple Expo, never a very healthy thing
to do for the bank account!
David Niemeijer was there and people seemed to be showing quite a bit
of interest in Assistiveware products. There was a conference in the
afternoon on the subject of the Mac for people with disabilities and
I was interviewed by a freelance journalist.
I decided to have a look at the IRISPen Executive which was being
demonstrated not too far from the Assistiveware stand. The person in
charge of the IRIS stand didn't know that the Mac can speak other
languages than English. He was demonstrating the IRISPen in English
which seemed a bit odd in France. Archie had his PowerBook with him
and let the guy hear the Infovox iVox French voices. The demonstrator
immediately suggested installing the IRISPen software on Archie's
machine to try it out in French. He was really impressed with the
results so we suggested he talk to David Niemeijer about working with
Acapela Group. Oh yes, we bought the IRISPen Executive and I'm now
trying to get to grips with it.
I also bought a cherry-red shell for my MacBook: very smart.
All in all, I think it was the best Apple Expo I've been to, and I've
been attending them for quite a number of years now.
Cheers,
Anne
