Also, while securely erasing trash you can do this.
If you interact with trash, you can VO move left or right to see how
much has been deleted and howmany items remain to be deleted. This
will let you know that it is working. Sometimes, with a particularly
large file, it might appear to be stalled, but it is still working.
Just my way of doing things, but I run it about once a week.
