fink install failure

I had agreed to the license and continued onto the volume selection screen 
where the mac mini freaked out.  It just kept doing multiple beeps and 
wouldn't allow me to select anything.  I downloaded the fink intel 
installer and that's what I used for this attempt.  Has anyone else had 
this happen and if so what do I need to do to clear the error?
