Greetings,
With the release of Leopard I am finding myself migrating to the
Mac more than I have been able to previously, mainly because
terminal now reads well with VoiceOver which is where I spend quite
a lot of my day as a sysadmin.
I thought I would just email the list for some feedback on
messenger clients.
I mainly require access to Jabber as we use it for internal
messaging at work, but also access to MSN and GoogleTalk would be
most helpful.
Everyone else at work is using Adium, so I have installed that
which seems to connect to the Jabber server just fine, but I am
unable to get the contacts list to read correctly ... it just
announces "available" with out the contacts name.
Also in conversation windows it isn't reading what the other person
is messaging back.
Is anyone else using Adium, and if so are there any tricks you may
pass on to assist me please.
It is highly possible that there is something simple to do to get
VoiceOver to read the information I am missing, I am basically
taking the learn as I go approach, so I certainly don't know
VoiceOver as well as Window-Eyes.
The other alternative of course is Ichat which from reading this
list is very accessible with VoiceOver.
Having never used Ichat before, I am unsure weather it will work
with Jabber / MSN / GoogleTalk, so any information on this subject
would also be appreciated.
I apologize for what might be a fairly simple issue, however I am
hoping that someone will have some answers for me.
Thanks,
Mitchell
