Hello! I will attempt to answer your questions the best I can. Like everyone here, I havin't figured it all out, but the Mac is very very easy to use. 1. Say I've just bought a Mac book, how do I get Voice Over launched from the minute I've taken the unit out of th ebox and turned it on? You turn the Mac on, and it plays the opening movie. Once it's done, it actually tells you with a human voice how o turn Voiceover on, but the command to do it is command-F5. If you're usin a notebook, it may be necessary to hold down the FN key while you press Command F5. The command key is located next o the spacebar on either side.
2. Is there a tutorial for installing boot camp and installing Windows XP/Vista and getting a screenreader up onto the Windows area? Boot Camp is included in Leopard, and there is a user's guide for it. You would first have to repartition your drive, which Boot Camp guides you through doing, and then it will let you install Windows. You will need sighted assistance for this, as the Windows installer, unlike the Mac, does not speak. Once Windows is insalled, insert your Leopard disk into the drive to install all your windows drivers. 3. How is boot camp running for folks ? Is it the same as it is for are sighted peers? When your Mac is unning Windows in Boot Camp, it is running just like it would on any Windows computer. For all intensive purposes, it is a Windows computer. The only difference is that the Windows and Alt keys are switched around. You just have to get used to that. With all the new enefits of Voiceover in Leopard though, you will probably find yourself preferring it for most things, as most of us already have.
