Hello

The developer of tables has released the next beta. I am pasting his message below where you will find the link. He also had a question about voiceover reading coments and misspelled words that I hope the developers may answer.

Hello Justin,

I just changed the accessibility information of the cells according your suggestions for the next beta release. The new information and handling of this information should be more universal access compliant as well.

I also added 3 new menu items including shortcuts to switch to the previous or next sheet as well as to edit the current cell. As the currently used cell editor in Tables isn't universal access compliant I added a new pane to the Tables preferences called Universal Access. On this pane the user can enable a Universal Access compliant editing that is then used instead of the current cell editing behavior.

You can download the latest Tables 1.4 beta10 here http://www.x-tables.eu/download/Tables_1.4 beta10.zip.

The accessibility information that I provide for assistive devices contain a tag called AXHelp. Especially for cells I would like to provide more informations about the cell. For example whether it contains a comment or whether the spell checking for that cell detected an error. Do you know how the information in the AXHelp tag can be accessed with VoiceOver?

If you have more suggestions how the universal access support in Tables can be improved, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Thanks a lot for your feedback and support!

Regards,

   Daniel
