Hi Mike,

to find out whether you canh share your printer, fire up printers on your windows box, find your printer and take a look at the properties, there should be a sharing tab. if sharing enabled is not greyed, you can share it.

To access your printer once has been set to be shared, on the mac, go to apps/utilities/printersetup and click add printer, pick windows printing from the selector and workgroup from the locations, choose your desktop that the printer is connected to, from the drivers list, pick hp from the left side of the printers column, on the right side of the column, find your printer and click ad. be sure to click ad because if you don't all your work will go for nothing.

Note, your windows networkig features have to be enabled in order for this to work.

good evening: What is the deal on printers with the mac. Do you have to use a
apple printer, or is there a way to use the hp printer I already have.

It isn't right by the mac, that's why I am asking before moving it.
It is however connected to a windows computer. I don't know if it can be shared with the mac that way or not.
Mike.
