I read the article and I am going to apply some of the stuff I read. I
have two events in the month of December so I guess I can't see them
unless I go to the month of December. I will play around and see what
I get.

When you set iCal to show a ful month, it displays it with the days
of the week going left to right, the mornings on row 1 and the
afternoons on row 2, and the weeks underneath each other. You
therefore have Monday morning, with Monday afternoon below it, and
the following Monday morning underneath that, etc.
I prefer to display it a week at a time.
Where there is no event, no day is spoken by VO.
