Hello all,

I've posted this before but we have people coming up with questions again about how to read an entire web page. It might interest some to know that whether vo is running or not, you can get your mac to read any selected text in any application. This comes in handy even with vo because as we have seen, it is nearly impossible to get vo to read an entire page from top to bottom. This spits out the page in a string of speech so don't expect miracles of high quality reading from it and you can change some of it's behaviour under speech in system prefs.

Most apps have a "services menu" under their app menu such as under the safari menu in safari, there is a services menu, right arrow into this menu and move up a couple of strokes and you will see a speech menu. Both start and stop speaking are available by pressing right arrow from this item. you will notice that they are dimmed. To make them active, interact with the page if you must not all pages require this and then select all. go to the menu and click speak and enjoy.
