weird problem in mail

Hi all.  I'm having a really weird problem with mail.  I have a  
message in my inbox that will not delete.  It has nothing in it, but  
it was a message I received.  It's like the entry will not go away but  
the actual message has been deleted.  It's really strange, and I can't  
get rid of it.
anyone have any idea how I can fix this?
