Hi Shaun.

Once you have any podcast episode in your iTunes podcast library, you
can use the contextual menu to subscribe to the podcast series.  You have
to do this from your own library -- not from the iTunes Store.  I find this
handy, because now that the initial rush of finding podcasts is long past,
I don't keep lots of subscriptiions active.  

Get one of the episodes from the podcast page by clicking on the
Get Episode button.  Then from your podcast library use the 
contextual menu for this to subscribe to the series.
