I got fink installed and didn't find ncftp but did find nethack and got
nethack installed using fink. What I found helped ease the installation
process was to edit the default fink name down to Fink.dmg first. Then
going into terminal I did command-option-downarrow once to interact with
text and then did cd desktop <cr> open Fink.dmg <cr> After that finder got
itself a new window. So moving over into that window I selected the
fink-intel-installer.pkg file and opened it with command-o. I checked the
windows out as they came up but instead of tabbing forward before
selecting I back-tabbed with shift-tab onto each continue button and the
agree button before selecting them to do the install. For whatever reason
that prevented voiceover from freaking out on the volume selection window.
Once the package was installed successfully I closed the installer using
its button and went back into terminal mode to search for ncftp and when I
didn't find that searched for nethack and just did fink install nethack to
install it. I got asked for my password and keyed in the one I always
used to install software then got asked about modifying groups and agreed
to that and the package got downloaded and set up. I did a fink validate
and fink cleanup and those seem to have forced an update. So far there's
1,722 packages available on the server to date.
