yeah, all them li'lle icons are jamming up the system. I find sometimes at least that in situations like this, list or column view are better.

Hey all, am just copying over some last minute material to my lil Mac / tidying up an external HD before I go, and I have a couple of questions... I usually use icon mode for everything I do in the finder, however, I have a 250 gb 7200 rpm USB HD which was formated for windows, (fat 32) and for a few operations, it becomes simply so sluggish / lagged that it's unusable. If I log into it from my desktop, it's fine, but when I go to certain rather large folders, it causes finder to be busy and basically never to stop being busy. I've needed to force quit / restart finder to get it to stop... This has also happened when I've tried to del files from it as well... And the files haven't been removed. I ended up needing to log into it from my Windows lappy and delete material like that. ick!... <smile> anyway, I can copy from it just fine, which is fortunate, and this behavior only seems to happen in icon mode. If I switch to list or column mode, it's fine, and the response time is quite good. I can del or copy equally well, and there is no lag time. Might someone clue me in on what may be happening?... Thanks so much, y'all! ROCK!!! have a great day!... -And see ya soon from the road!... :) Smiles, Cara :) --- View my Online Portfolio at: http://www.onemodelplace.com/CaraQuinn
