Nope, it's still necessary to get the old version to get passed the registration screen.

Can someone explain just how to do this? I run the older 3.05 version, click "register later" (not recalling the exact label right now) and reach the old version's main screen. When I launch 3.5.5, though, I still receive the inaccessible registration window.

I'd experiment more on my own, but my impression is that I have a limited number of launches remaining, and I'm not willing to waste another if I'm not groking the procedure.

Also, my understanding is that multitrack capabilities were inaccessible. Is this accurate? This was asked earlier on another thread, but I never saw an answer. What I'm wanting is to perform atomic edits on separate tracks, hearing those edits before mixing down to the final product. Simply overlaying tracks and mixing them down to stereo is no good for my purposes.

Thanks.
