I'm getting some odd looks here at home. I have the cats
soundpack for Adium, and of course, any time I log in, I get a
lot of cat noises--so now I've taken to petting and scritching
the invisible kitties! It was funny when I found jmyself doing
it the first time--now I do it just for the heck of it.
On another note, I am absolutely loving the way I can configure
my contacts to have different voices. It's fun!
For those who are having trouble, do a command-i onthe contact,
go to the events tab, go to the table, and count down to 14.
Then hit the button to the right of that. When it shows you the
edit box for "speak specific text" you can put
%n user name
%a alias
%m message
%t time
You don't have to have all of those and you can put them in
whatever order you want.
I generally use
%a %m
(alias and message)
you put spaces between each set so it would be
%a space %m
or whatever.
I usually find too that I want to change the voice from the
system voice, and that's easy to fix. Then I usually want to
adjust the pitch, so I have to check the box for "use custom
pitch" and I usually slide mine way upwards.
Then I just clic on the OK button there, and then on the close
button to take me out of that dialog altogether.
