I've been playing around with Addressbook, too, and I found that one
can easily edit the entry by arrowing to the correct one in the table
and then pressing command+l. This has the same effect of checking the
"edit" box in the card view and puts you in the card view area. When
finished editing, you can press command+l again and editing will be
stopped and you'll be placed out of the card view.
