Subject: Firevox works with leopard and apple voices

I just installed firevox successfully and it now works with Apple voices and
also infovox voices.

It isn't nearly as difficult as it used to be in that there are no longer
permissions to change or a .jar file to download and install or any commands
to be run from terminal.

a few warnings:
1. Make sure when you download that you end up with a .xpi extention file.
You can't download it by using the context menu as I believe we sometimes
did before; if in doubt, turn off the "open safe files" in safari prefs and
you may get a .zip file which when opened will definitely show a .xpi file.

2. When downloading the xpi file, don't go down further on the web page and
get the one that's for the freetts interface; you don't need it.

3. When opening the .xpi file in firefox, to avoid busy signals in the open
dialog you may want to make sure you use list mode rather than browser mode.

4. I still can't definitely tell you how to do the part in firefox where you
install the file; you have no voiceover help there and there is an "install
now" button to hit.; I hit enter but couldn't tell if this worked. I ended
up opening and closing firefox a couple of times and then suddenly realized
that Ryan (my ivox voice) was saying slash slash and that it was speaking
as the voice for firevox instead of the voice for voiceover. It would be
nice if you could configure so that a different voice was used for firevox
than for voiceover but I happened explored whether or not that's possible.

Hth.
