Hi John
Actually, the events tab is pretty useable, but there is a trick to
dealing with it. When you interact with the table and here "button
collapsed" or "button expanded" use vo+h to access the help tag.
That will let you know what event or action you're on in the table.
This trick works in a lot of other places in Adium as well.
I wish I was having as much luck with the new test version of Adium
as everyone else is. I can see the html content and interact with it
fine, but once I interact with it and read what's there, VO *never*
updates the contents. No new messages show up, even if I switch to
another app then switch back. I can stop interacting and interact
again all I want, the contents are stuck. The only way it updates
for me is to turn VO off then back on again. I'll try again with DOM
navigation enabled instead of group navigation, that's the only
thing I can think of that might be making this happen. I'm going to
give it a shot on my iBook as well and see if it happens there,
maybe it's something odd on my Mac Mini specifically.

In the chat window, if you VO navigate to the left, there should
be an html area. You can interact with it to read the transcript.
This appears to work fine. Most of it is really straight forward,
but there are buttons and boxes not labeled and I have a feeling
The events tab is not accessible enough, unless I'm missing
something obvious.

how did you get it to read the messages?

I downloaded it and I can read the messages. What I am not
understanding is how to get VoiceOver to speak the incoming
messages and how to customize the alert sounds for specific events.

John. A new version has been made available where the message

I know this topic has come up a few times, but if there is
anyone who can give me some pointers on how to get Adium to
speak incoming messages and how to customize alert sounds,
please contact me off list. I want to try out this app, and
some of it is not as transparent as I was hoping it would be.
