I recalled that some routers use one or the other format. I found this Apple document on "AirPort: Joining an encrypted Wireless network" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106424 and you might try putting the ASCII password in double quotes. If it's HEX, some passwords can be entered with a dollar-sign, "$" (not in quotes when entered) before the password. Cheers, Esther
