SS: Well, accessibility of the effects grid is kind of important.
Not that I want to change my pitch, or sound like Darth Vader, but if
I'd like to do a tutorial of something and include Voiceover, I'd need
to at least access the application mix plugin. AHP is great for
recording one thing, but if you have to mix mic audio with it, you're
kind of stuck unless I'm missing something.
Nicecast is basically a streaming program that allows one to run an
online radio station. It uses a sort of mini version of audio
highjack to get the source stream i.e. you need to high jack something
like iTunes in order to have something to stream. Unfortunately, it
uses that same effects grid and again, if you want to do any voice
overs, or announcements between songs, you need to be able to
interact with it.
certainly it's possible that the new AHP will have the effects grid
fixed, although they've indicated to me that it's "dead" and that it's
"impossible" to fix. In the mean time, I think it'd be great if we
could find some other alternative software if nothing else, to have
choice.
