Hi Olivia, If you deleted the file from FInder you can use an "undo" step that is Command+Z. (This can undo a number of recent finder actions). However, in general you can open the Trash, and use copy and paste to move files back.
By removing files permanently from the trash folder do you mean that you want to do a secure empty trash? You can empty your trash with shift+command+delete. There's also a secure empty trash option under the Finder Menu bar.
