Hello,
You need to check the box that lets you sync music. Actually, you may
have chosen to sync everything you've got when you installed the iPod.
On the main Summary tab, if you look at the bottom options, you should
see several ways to control how syncing works with your iPod. You can
even manually manage, making special playlists that only appear on the
pod.
