Hey Ryan,

You might want to try enabling 3d graphics accelleration. Its been a few months since I used Fusion so my memory is beyond hazey lol, but if you hit settings for the virtual machine there's a checkbox in the graphics settings as far as I remember. That for me solved the ding ding ding issue when I was running Jaws 8 as well as the forms issue. Not sure if it'll resolve the ms word one, but its worth a go.

Subject: Fusion and JAWS with DCM in XPSP2

Hello,

I had a great thing going when I had Windows XPSP2 running with Jaws 8 in fusion. However, after a reboot and setup of the JAWS video intercept, some things still failed to work properly.

1. In Word, the main content area simply would make the Windows "bong bong bong" sound as I used the arrow keys to navigate text. That is usually a problem with the Display Chaining Manager. 2. Some web pages would not read forms properly. Boot in BootCamp and the issue goes away. 3. Items in Windows Explorer were just not being read aloud with arrow keys, and would also do the "bong bong bong" stupid noise.

Now, I have updated the Fusion VMWare setup drivers. Remember, the video driver is VMWare VGA, which according to Freedom Scientific isn't officially supported. But, what do they support, they simply love telling you that they don't support half of the hardware or virtualization used by the real world and then get you off the phone ASAP.

Now, I already have a service agreement to get the JAWS 9 update. WIll that fix this issue, or are they still struggling with making good use of DCM?

Ryan
