Hi Olivia,
You asked: How do I go about opening attachments in mail?
Pressing enter and space on the save popup button just takes me
back to the messages in my inbox.
TK: There are a number of ways to do this. first, if you're reading
the message and come upon the attachment, simply press VO-space while
VO is focused on that item in the message and the attachment will be
opened in the default app for that attachment. If you're using the
Save method, make sure you take note of where it is being saved, such
as the Desktop or your Documents folder of your Home directory.
After it is saved in your specified location, you will be taken back
to your messages within Mail. That is normal in any Mail app that
I've used both mac and Windows. Now to open the attachment after it
was saved, you'll have to go to the finder, then navigate to the
location where you saved it, and then open the file from there.
Olivia: Also, still figuring out the trick of sending attachments.
TK: When composing a message, simply press cmd-shift-a to bring up
the dialog, use navigation commands to locate the file you wish to
attach then press return. Remember, do not press return until you
have navigated to the actual file/folder you wish to attach. Use VO
expanding or VO-shift-space-space (double-click of mouse) to get
inside folders so that you can attach individual files.
HTH.
