Python is in darwinports and fink; is this what you want or are you looking
for a Macosx install of tese?
I frankly haven't had a problem with versiontracker or macupdate other than
the fact that you sometimes have to hit links in a few windows to finally
get your downloads. One thing you could do is put your search in google
instead and it should take you right to the area in versiontracker you need.
I just double-checked macupdate.com because I didn't want to open my mouth
and put my foot in it. I'm not sure what you mean about the search field
being hidden. It was right at the top of the page and I wasn't thrown
wherever when I opened the page. I'm using leopard with safari 3.
It's very possible for some of us to have problems others don't; look at the
trouble I had moving the mouse n tiger and the trouble i'm having with the
toolbar in Max even though I double-click as advised. However, you might
want to check your voiceover settings or safari setup to see if you can find
a source for any of your problems with versiontracker and macupdate.
I think part of your problem is that you may have to find different ways to
approach problems rather than that you need to use a different browser in a
different OS, and of course finding different ways to approach problems is
part of why this list is so helpful--*smile*!!! It's always a good idea to
post and find out how others are handling problems before you decide
something can't be done.
Btw I like lynx too and still use it for some things but all of us who use
it and even those of us who really like it know how many websites there are
that don't work with it, don't show all the content, or don't allow us to
purchase or search. I wouldn't want to have to go back to lynx for all my
browsing needs.
You could also try installing firefox with firevox if you want to try an
alternative approach to some websites. I know other rowsers have been
mentioned too.
