Hi Dennis,
You said: In looking at purchasing a MacBook or MacBook Pro I've
noticed the
following.
When purchasing through Apple there is an extra charge for ILife.
When
looking at Best Buy and Future Shop ILife comes with the system.
TK: You must be reading things incorrectly on Apple's web-site.
iLife does come free with all MacBooks and MacBook Pros wherever you
purchase them.
DB:
First of
all, how much of the applications in ILife are accessible.
TK: IPhoto is quite accessible although you'll need sight for all the
photo editing features. IMovie/iDVD has its moments, probably about 1
or 2 out of 5 stars. Garage Band is getting better but still not great.
DB: Is it a suite of applications that is useable or not.
TK: Fort the most part, no. Although I will say that they are
primarily directed more for sighted folks as they pertain to editing
visual things like movies and photos. Garage Band has lots of
application for VO users but it's not totally accessible as of yet
unless I've missed an update.
Later...
