I just tried nethack and was first not able to open a .nethackrc file but
came up running in nethack anyway. I was able to examine the screen some
using control-option-shift with left and right arrows. That's good for
one line but finding the rest of the stuff in a room can get interesting
after that. I suspect but haven't yet tested that vi navigation command
keys will be useful. It's possible the #quit and other similar commands
will work too but I tried command-q because in other flavors of nethack
alt-q can close a game. This time I closed the terminal and the game.
All in all the screen was recognizeable as a nethack screen so I consider
this to be a good start. I downloaded nethack with fink so if anyone else
is interested in trying this out you now have my source.
