Had a similar problem. Got the note to update but after I did the app was ruined. Don't do the 1.1.2 update.

That said, I downloaded zoom from here:

http://www.logicalshift.co.uk/mac/Zoom-1.1.1.dmg

I copied it from the disk image and ran it once, ignoring the request to upgrade. Then I googled around for zork1.z5 which is the original Zork adventure in the z-interpreter format. I downloaded it to my desktop, double-clicked it and it came up in zoom ready to play. Zoom does have a preference you can turn on to use the built-in speech and read everything automagically. At least on Leopard it used Alex.

I got the pyobjc trunk and svn doesn't build what's in those trunks either. Maybe there's an src folder in there with a configure script I'll look for that later. Now for the zoom adventures. I downloaded version 1.1.1 fron versiontracker.com. I got a warning about using stuff on the disk image and it's probably accurate too. When I ran the zoom application, I was told there's a new version so tried to have the package install that and got an error. Then emacs opened up and sent me back to another verizon.net addreess and left me in deep space there for a little while. So I close emacs. I go over to another computer to send this email and discover by dhcp client and pppoe client have both been crashed. I started those up but think what versiontracker.com has either is a virus or is linking up with a virus in the update process.
