thank you all for a great idea and the support on this. I will be working on things though it may be a little while before I actually get round to it. as my studio is being rebuilt etc I am having to dedicate time to wiring work, new looms and transfer to an analogue console etc. but I promise you I will do audio tutorials on my mac with garage band and audio hijack pro. need to master using that app lol

anyhow all

I have tested the issue regarding the loop interface and sometimes it can be slightly sluggish but then what can you expect. I will be discussing with the accessibility team regarding the "BUSY" message. I think this may actually because a background process in garage band may be still running. I cant say that I've noticed this but hey lol anything these days can happen lol

Set up a room on Skype where we can all go and hear the demo. Then upload the file to www.blindcooltech.com, or some other website that is accessible to those who don't, as yet, have Skype. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.

He should host a skypecast on it.

Great idea! Let us know if there are enough people interested and what time the Skype conference will take place. Hopefully, it on either Monday or Tuesday; maybe even Sunday. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.

ok guys. and girls sorry lol

if anyone is interested in a tutorial in how to use this application I would be willing to help people out either as individuals or as a group. if you are a skype user then maybe some stage we can arrange a skype call where I can show you all how to use this effectively. with my background in app training and pro audio software including logic on the classic macs I will teach anyone happily. all I ask for is your patience and humour lol

I am using the newest macbook, and I have everything updated. I couldn't do anything with garage band using the regular VO commands, though. Have no clue about the graphics stuff, but I'm assuming it's the same as yours if you'e using a new mac.
Guess I'll just keep trying!

ok well its weird lol. now then how I navigate through the system is using the traditional VO right and left arrows to scroll round the page and VO SHIFT up and down arrows to interact with sections and the usual things to get it going. now you might need to do a little fine tuning to voiceover settings to help you. but I am navigating through it successfully. it could be to do with specification of macs and graphics cards. are you using a new mac? if so which one and what spec. sorry just trying to see a corrolation between graphics cards, resolutions and voiceover handling etc.

I would advise going through keyboard shortuct help to give you useful keys seperate from voiceover and you will get the best out of it. be aware it does take some patience and also do a final software update to download the ilife support pack.

How did you get garage band to work?
I couldn't get it to interact with vo at all yesterday despite running 10.5.2. A sighted friend and I also tested it out today and he was able to use it with the mouse, but I couldn't do anything with it.
So, what's your secret? :)

OK guys here is good news and I have confirmed this today with some testing. yes garage band 08 works very well in fact perfectly with voiceover. all panels and controls are navigateable and interactable with voiceover. I have hooked up my studio synths to garage band and tested it out. so yes gang there is some good news on the horizon.

now as soon as I have chance I will be sorting out a copy of logic studio 8 for work and will keep you updated. I encourage anyone to please try this out and ask questions regarding this product and I will do my best to assist you. it is however recommended that you have a good midi controller keyboard or synth keyboard and maybe a good control surface to perform good mixing and editing work.
